The Władysław Hasior Gallery in based in the former rest-terrace of the
Warszawianka Hotel. Erected in the 'New Regionalism' style in 1935, it was
conveyed to the Tatra Museum in 1983. Modernized, it has been adapted into a
multi-layer interior serving as the artist's gallery, studio and home. On
display in the gallery are Władysław Hasior's works, including his banners.
Meetings with the artist and exhibitions of works by other artists are also
held there.
Władysław Hasior finished the Antoni Kenar Art School in Zakopane. In 1952-58
he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and in 1958 in Ossip
Zadkine's studio in Paris. Since 1957 he has exhibited at home and abroad in
Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Oslo, Montevideo, Sao Paulo, Helsinki, Vienna et al.
His works are in museums in Poland and abroad: in Helsinki, Paris, Stockholm,
Oslo, Sao Paulo, Rome, Milan, Edinburgh, Bohum, Duisburg and Amsterdam, and in
numerous private collections. Władysław Hasior has many innovative monuments
erected at home and abroad, to his credit.
